"Folk music always seemed to me like a lone man's punk rock. I grew up a devout punkrocker but in an environment where such a pursuit would always remain a lonesome endeavour. I just had to accept that fact. I started playing folk when the likes of Flogging Molly, Billy Bragg and Tim Barry used their punk credentials to tell me that playing on your own is possible. Then you get to the likes of Bobby Dylan and Christy Moore and from then on there is just no going back.
Every now and then a folk song comes through that has "punk rock" written all over it. You hear it and you know - potential. The songs in this EP are precisely that. I knew they were punk songs the minute I heard them, or, in I Remember's case, knew there was a folk song somewhere under all that noise.
I love that about G Dogs, they'll try any oul' shite that I ever throw at them. We've done far more instrumentals over the years that I ever thought we would get away with, and they're still keen for more. Mad cunts. I guess the only way of finding out whether something works is trying it out, so stick this in your ears and find out." -Vince
