Gevaudan Dogs is the latest punk rock ensemble from Leeds. Brainchild of songwriter and guitarist Vince Cayo, the four-piece bring energetic and impactful sounds similar to the likes of Social Distortion, Stiff Little Fingers and The Clash.

Formed in 2022, the band would initially evolve from Vince Cayo's established solo work as a touring folk singer. By recruiting veterans of Leeds music scene form bands like The Yalla Yallas and Nervous Twitch, as well as untapped young Liz Lethal, Gevaudan Dogs put down days and days in rehearsal rooms to hone a sound that would define the band. By June of that year they would make their live debut at The Blind Pig in Sowerby Bridge, a place that would feature in heavy rotation from then on, with it being the venue for the release of their first album ‘This is the sound of Gevaudan Dogs’ in March 2024.

This album does exactly what it says on the tin, this is simply the sound of Gevaudan Dogs. It's got the relentless urgency of punk mixed in with some surf twang and folk storytelling.

Singles from the album, “Down the Pathway” and “I Don't Wanna Be Poor” were released in

November 2023, followed by the albums release date in March 2024. “Down the Pathway” would earn G-Dogs the number 1 spot in Simon Ashberry's “best tracks of 2024” on his BCB Radio programme.
